LILIS Speakers Revealed!

We’re excited to finally be able to announce our speakers for this year’s LILIS (Livestock In Low Input Systems) conference on Thursday 9th of June! We’ve got a jam-packed day planned at Howside Organic Farm and we hope you can join us.

The LILIS (Livestock In Low Input Systems) conference will look at the successes and challenges of upland livestock production in organic, upland and similar low-input systems. Topics under discussion will be the use of appropriate breeds, marketing and branding, and a back-to-basics approach to the animal and its role in the farming system.

The current programme offers a wide array of different speakers, as well as an on-farm walk during the afternoon.

11.30am Johnny Bax, Ruminant Diet and Forage Specialist

12 noon Russ Carrington, Pasture Fed Livestock Association (PFLA)

12.20pm Q&A Panel with Nick Cole (meadow Quality), David Marshall (Farm Stock (Scotland) Ltd), Russ Carrington (PFLA)

12.45pm Lunch

2.00pm On farm walk with Drainbuster demonstration and a look at Howside productive in-bye grazing grass and silage over Ennerdale Water
